LESS IS MORE
We've learnt our jazz at the feet of Terry Seabrook one of the country's finest jazz pianists. Here is one of his tips for playing jazz. we'll add more as we go....
YOUR PHRASE LENGTH. VARY IT, SHORT TO LONG
I notice that many newcomers to jazz try and play too many notes.
Thelonius Monk, one of the most original soloists ever, was very comfortable leaving several bars silent. This itself creates tension.

JAZZ SMUGGLERS TO OPEN THE FINALE OF THE FESTIVITIES!
We had a phone call two days ago, from the Arts Director of the Chichester Festivities to see if we could put the band together this coming Saturday, to open the Finale of the Festivities. Could we? You bet!
We will be playing as crowds come in at the Goodwood Racecourse. It is the biggest night of the Festival and we are so pleased to be part of it.

Chichester Festivities a sell-out
They were just our kind of people. We loved them and I think it was reciprocated. "Saturday night at the Garden Centre". I feel a new musical coming on.
Thanks everyone and especially Hillier for doing everything and more that was needed.
